Turning on: Hood must be turned on before cooking to generate the air stream that will get rid of cooking fumes. This circular stream need some time to generate a complete a full absorption cycle, that is why customer must anticipate.
Turning off: For the same reason than the previous argument, hood must be left on for a period of time so that it can get rid of fumes once cooking is finished.
This extra time will allow kitchen air cleaning and expelling particles from filters and ducting tubes.
Air drafts: It is important to keep away external drafts that will divert particles from the purifying drafts.
Limpieza de filtros: Filters must be cleaned once a month, by the less, to avoid grease accumulation.
Metallic filter cleaning can be carried out in a dishwasher or by using non-abrasive products. Otherwise, filters shine will be reduced.
Inside parts cleaning: Inside cleaning must be done with warm water and detergent rubbing with a soft cloth.
Do not scratch using hard elements and it is advisable to dry out with a hair-free cloth to avoid malfunctioning.
Do not carry out any kind of inside manipulation without turning the hood off previously.
There are two key issues before choosing a hood: tube length and kitchen dimensions.
Knowing kitchen dimensions, therefore volume (in cubic meters) is possible to define optimal exaust capacity for the mentioned kitchen by using the next ratio: 15 times/hour by kitchen cubic meters.
For Example:
For a kitchen 3 meters wide, 2 meters long and 3 meters high (18m3) it is necessary a minimum exaust capacity of 300-360 cubic meters/hour.
Regarding distance from the hood to exterior, the bigger this is, the higher exaust capacity must be.
If there is no way out, It is advisable to active carbon filters and replace them every 3 to 6 months depending on use intensity.
Follow these rules for proper hood functioning:
· Avoid curved or cornered segments or exaust capacity will decrease and noise level increase.
· Keep a minimum distance of 60 centimeters from the kitchen top and vitroceramic hobs and 70 centimetres from gas hobs to optimize performance.
· Use ducting tubes no narrower than 120mm diameter, otherwise use them in strainght zones.
· Install an anti-return valve in the motor.
· Clean filters regularly to allow air flow.
