The new Pento sink has a great variety of accessories included such as a glass chopping board, a stainless steel colander, a soap dispenser and three types of coarse-graters.
Within Teka’s wide range, the angular sinks stand out by making good use of corners and dead spaces.
Austenitic stainless steel is the highest quality stainless steel, the most attractive, resistant and long lasting of the market. AISI 304 series is an alloy of 18% chrome and 10% nickel. Chrome increases the hardness and resistance and brings brightness and durability. Nickel brings strength to the alloy and improves the resistance. Teka uses austenitic or surgical stainless steel throughout its sink range, cooking range and white line. The stainless steel sinks are timeless classics and combine perfectly with any style of furniture, especially with home appliances in the same material. Stainless steel is a hygienic material, easy to clean, resistant and it has a passive protective layer which avoids corrosion as well as a self-repairing mechanism of the oxygen of the water or in the air (self-plugging).
Teka sinks can be installed in base units from 45 cm to 100cm wide.
It is a pull out waste basket of Teka sinks which prevents waste from getting inside the drain. It has a stainless steel handle with 3 embossed Teka logos, which makes the selection of its two positions easier. The 3½” waste basket makes the installation of a waste disposal unit possible. Furthermore, they improve considerably the aesthetics of the sink.
The bowls are used to drain or prepare foods. The individual bowls adapt to reduced spaces. Welded bowls are those which are sanded and polished after welding. For technical reasons there are bowls which cannot be welded and are made from a one-piece pressing, which is less expensive. The welded bowls allow a greater depth.
Anti-bacteria of the synthetic sinks.
Teka has both synthetic and wooden chopping boards. We recommend washing with soap and hot water after every use and not using boards which have cracks or cuts because bacteria could multiply in trapped food residue. One board can be used to cut the raw meat and the other for salads (for example) to prevent the contamination of bacteria from one food to the other. The New Universo range incorporates a modern chopping board with the design of the drainer. A final reminder is that Teka sinks are not chopping boards.
“ Teka” accessories turn the sinks into real multifunctional working centres. The colanders serve to rinse, drain and clean. Teka has transparent colanders. These accessories allow you to customize the sink and make kitchen chores easier.
The Cuadro range has a modern sliding glass table.
Large diameters and depths are concepts more and more valued by the users, thus Teka has bowls up to 250 mm deep and large diameters which increase the functionality of the sink and allow oven or grid trays and big containers to be cleaned. Depth is the distance from the upper part of the edge to the bottom of the sink nearest the waste pipe. The deeper the bowls are, the more resistant the plate must be; the smaller the radius and the bigger the capacity.
These accessories allow you to customize the sink and make kitchen chores easier. Apart from the stainless steel dish baskets, Teka also includes a white colander in the Universo family to dry the crockery. This way, the worktop remains clear and it’s easier to keep the surface dry.
The drainer is a zone which is particularly useful for cleaning, drying and preparing foods. Teka sinks have multiple configuration possibilities: with or without drainer, drainers with different designs (round designs, square designs, etc) reversible or with the drainer in the right or in the left.
The Teka waste disposal unit is a simple and practical accessory that can be found in over 50 million homes worldwide which disposes of the food wastes (a source of germs, infections, odours and bacteria) quickly and efficiently, helping to keep the kitchen clean.
Advantages of the waste disposal units:
- Hygiene: Organic waste is fed down the drain, eliminating in this way all the germs and bad odours which attract pests such as insects.
- Cleaning: Just by turning on the tap and pressing a button, the waste disposal unit gets rid of waste and microbial sources without any trace. Food waste represents from 25% - 50% of all household waste.
- Functionality: The waste disposal unit simplifies a lot of unpleasant labours such as taking out the garbage daily, disinfecting bins, dripping rubbish bags (Time saving)
- Environment: The food particles are piped to waste treatment plants where they can be recycled into fertilizers, thus producing a benefit to the community.
- Safety: It has no blades or knives
- It can be installed in sinks with 3 ½ “ basket waste
- Minimum water and energy.
- No maintenance (lubrication) required
- Long-life product
- Low noise levels
- Easy to install.
Teka has also full bright polished sinks in the top range as Classic series, Cuadro series and under-mounted bowls. The full bright polished sinks have an intensive polishing mirror in all the surface (brushes of different types with longer exposure times).
They are also known as drop in sinks. They are the most common installation system, together with lay on sinks. The edge is put on top of the worktop and the rest is placed in the hole opened on the worktop. A small overlap prevents water spilling over the worktop.
Probably it is the most perfect type of installation. The sink and the surface of the sink become a solid unit, free of edges and corners. Some under-mounted models can also be installed this way.
The most traditional installation type. The sink lodges inside the kitchen unit in such way that the sides do not support the weight. Some have wooden supports inside to make the installation easier and reinforce the structure.
Linen sinks reduce the visibility of scratches. They are made of stainless steel and have an elegant, slight relief in the surface giving a different look from the standard stainless steel sink but keeping all its practical characteristics.
Micro-textured sinks have such an appearance that combines perfectly with the aluminium finishing in the kitchen. They are smoother than linen sinks and easy to clean.
Teka overflows fulfil the Norm UNE EN 13 o 310 and are round, with a greater absorption capacity than the rectangular or square ones.
Satin polished Teka sinks have an enduring easy to clean lustre that it is impervious to water stains and calcium deposits . This finish requires extensive hand and machine buffing. Polished sinks have a homogeneous shine both in the bowl and in the drainer. This shine is achieved thanks to a meticulous polishing system.
The pop-up basket is a device to activate (open or close) the basket waste, which makes it possible to fill and empty the bowl comfortably without the need for putting your hand in the bowl and getting wet. It is a drainage system of the water in the bowl, which is activated through an accessory in the drainer. This way, direct contact with the water, which could have bleach, soap or simply be dirty, is avoided.
Another of the most important features of the sinks is the radius. The radius it is the distance between the corners of the bowls and the bottom, at the point they converge.
The sealing strip applied to the inset sinks can be single or injected. It prevents water seeping in. Other companies use fixing clips and silicon instead.
A passive, transparent layer and just a few atoms thick. If the surface of the stainless steel is scratched or gets damaged, it is renovated by the action of the oxygen in the water. This explains why stainless steel does not require other protection layers against corrosion to keep shiny for decades.
The slope of the Teka sinks walls, near 90º is another distinguishable factor of Teka sinks. The deeper the bowl is ,the more vertical the wall and the smaller the radius, the bigger the capacity.
A special plastic element situated under the bowl of stainless steel sinks and in some drainers to absorb the noise produced by the water hitting the surface.
To adapt sinks to the kitchen as much as possible, Teka offers synthetic or SMC sinks in composite and acrylic in a granite compound (Tegranit).
Tegranit sinks are based on a modern combination of granite( 80%), methyl methacrylate ( 15%) and additives(5%), that is a combination of granite mixed with toughened resins and pigments. These sinks have a light finish which imitates natural stone.
Properties of Tegranit:
- Heat resistant (280 ºC)
- Resistant to household acids
- Thermal shock resistant
- Scratch resistant
- Impact resistant
- Easy to clean
To fully adapt the sink to the kitchen base unit, Teka offers acrylic synthetic sinks in an attractive sand beige colour.
Tekadur and Tekuarz ranges are made of a chemical compound called composite.
Composite is a thermostatic material, with the addition of minerals, thermoplastic additives, catalysts and pigments, and it is reinforced with chopped fibreglass. Fibreglass brings cohesion to the compound, resistance and elasticity against impacts and chemicals. It is a non-porous surface. Its transformation is made in a hot mould (130-160 ºC) under high pressure (120 BAR). This process is not reversible. After the material has been polymerised, it can not be melted down by high temperatures.
- Heat resistant (to 400 º C)
- Thermal shock resistant (100.000 cycles 12ºC-90º: cold and hot water).
- Impact resistant (fall of 500 grams from 1,40 metres height)
- Scratch resistant
- Chemical agents resistant (sodium chloride, ethanol, etc).
To fully adapt the sink to the rest of the kitchen, Teka offers a wide variety of colours in synthetic sinks:
- White
- Brown
- Black
- Stone grey
- Sand Beige
- Terre de france
- Granit white
- Anthracite
Composite sinks have a shiny (brilliant) finish.
The thickness is one of the key factors of a sink. The thinner it is, the more likely it is to distort when in contact with a hot pan. All the thick models have a full bright finishing. Under-mounted Teka 2 bowl sinks have a considerable thickness: 1.2 mm for the welded table and up to 1 mm for the thickness of the bowls.
Under-mounted sinks circumscribe the sinks in the kitchen set providing a neutral and aesthetic finish more and more demanded by kitchen designers and which also stands out due to the ease of cleaning and the possibility of deep bowls. Under-mounted Teka sinks have straight lines and highly resistant and easy combinable bowls. Independently of 2 bowl sinks, the individual bowls of under-mounted sinks offer a lot of different combinations to adapt both to the tastes and the needs of the users. Under-mounted Teka 2 bowl sinks are thick: 1.2 mm for the welded table and up to 1 mm thick for the bowls. Under-mounted sinks have fixing accessories. The cutting plan (drawing) make the installation of Teka sinks easier. They are installed over a marble, granite or synthetic surfaces such as Silestone, for example. They avoid dirt accumulating between the worktop and the sink. If it is well mounted, it is waterproof (impervious).
