System incorporated by TEKA in several gas hob models, comprising a spark generator, integrated inside the hob and a spark plug which is inside the body of the burner. On pushing down and turning the knob, a spark is generated. This spark in contact with the gas lights the flame. This avoids using traditional lighters or matches. As the spark plug is integrated inside the spark generator, it is protected so the spark plug does not get dirty.
The thermocouple is a security element integrated and hidden in the burner. When the thermocouple detects that the flame has gone out (when the temperature decreases), it interrupts an electric signal which closes the tap valve and subsequently the gas flow within approximately 10-20 seconds.
If by forgetfulness or carelessness one or more hotplates were not switched off, or if after a certain time the power level is not modified, touch control hobs have a safety system which switches the hob off after a certain time according to the cooking level.
This function is very useful in our Touch Control hobs to prepare fast boiling plates. It starts initially on maximum power for a certain time and lowers it afterwards to the selected power automatically.
Cast iron grids enamelled in matt black (available depending on models), are more attractive, flat, individual, stable, resistant, robust and long-lasting. Teka uses the best materials in all their grids. The grids have an elegant Teka logo embossed in high relief. Moreover, they are washable in a dishwasher.
Providing there is not any programmed hob, the timer can be used as a back timer with acoustic minute minder, adapting to the personal habits of the user.
It allows you to programme the beginning and the end of the cooking from 1 minute to 99 minutes. When the programmed time is over, the hob switches off emitting an acoustic signal ( a beep), getting ready to serve meals without keeping an eye on the cooking. In some models, the programming timer can be activated independently in all the heating elements at the same time.
When the touch control detects that some object covers the hob’s sensors (e.g. in case of liquid spills), it disconnects as a safety system, avoiding the recipient or the foods getting burned or the power level changing by mistake. Teka hobs fulfil the Security Norms currently in force EN 60335-1 y EN 60335-2-6.
There are 3 types of electric hobs: induction, electric solid plates and vitroceramic hobs. Electric solid plates are made of robust cast iron and they keep warm after switching them off. Vitroceramic hobs, situated under the glass reach higher temperatures (around 540 ºC). For greater safety for the user, both types have thermal limiters or protection against overheating.
Round cooking zones with lateral extensions which can be switched on depending on the needs, improving adaptability. They are suitable for oval shaped recipients.
Teka has different varieties of finishes to adapt their hobs to the many different tastes of their clients. A) Stainless steel frame: robustness, total protection against hits, tiny risk of breakages, flush designs, soft finishes. B) Bevelled lateral profile: protection against lateral hits when there are recipients displacements and robustness and C) Bevelled glass: aesthetic, easy cleaning (there are no edges where the dirt can lodge) and bigger useful surface. D) Flush or integrated installation: it incorporates the hob inside the worktop, creating a perfect flat surface.
Gas (butane/propane/natural) is an ecological and economic energy source. It represents the favourite way of cooking of professionals and “cuisine lovers” in general, for its speed and ease of use, offering a more accurate control in the kitchen. The design of some Teka gas hob models incorporate a barrier or 45º angle to avoid splashes or the chromed knobs getting dirty.
Gas on glass hobs are made of tempered glass up to 8 mm thick and their attractive aesthetics grace any kitchen. They are a good option for those users who prefer cooking with the advantages of gas and the aesthetics of the glass. Individual grids and the tempered glass surface make the gas on glass hobs easy to clean.
Special zones up to 290 mm available both in vitroceramic and induction hobs which multiply the possibilities in an single heating element. The giant zones allow the use of large pans and also recipients of several sizes, adjusting, in the induction models, the power to the diameter of the recipients with the subsequent energy saving.
Teka has also models to grill directly over the vitroceramic surface. Grilled vegetables, meat, fish, etc are healthier since they use little oil. Furthermore, it keeps the water, the vitamins and the nutritional values of the foods better.
Halogen hobs have a halogen gas tube and a heating element. They start to heat in one second to the maximum power, giving off a brilliant light.
Ultra-rapid electric heating elements of high output (minimum of 2000 hours of useful life). Heating by irradiation in short cycles (it lasts only 3 seconds to reach maximum power). Teka has also double and triple High Light circuit zones, which allow you to adjust the power and the diameter of the hob to the pan.
The independent hobs are activated directly through Teka hobs with both mechanical and Touch Controls situated in the hob.
Induction involves an authentic revolution in cooking. Heat is generated through a magnetic field, created under the glass when a ferrous magnetic pan is placed above.
Speed of heating: Induction is the fastest way of cooking. Heat is transmitted directly to the base of pan, minimizing the losses of heat and reducing the time of cooking.
Energy saving: A saving of up to 40% of electricity consumption compared to other systems.
Energy Efficiency: These hobs incorporate an intelligent system which recognises automatically the size and diameter of the pan, providing the right amount of energy, so that no energy is wasted with constant regulation of energy and thus more uniform heat distribution. Energy is only transmitted when a suitable recipient is situated over the cooking zone. If the recipient is removed, the power stops (Zero energy consumption).
Cleaning: As the vitroceramic crystal heats less, spills and splashes do not become incrusted. Thus cleaning in general is not so laborious with induction hobs and the use of scraper is seldom needed.
Safety: Heat is transmitted directly to the pan base. This way, the glass does not reach high temperatures, just that produced by the heat of the recipient. Induction zones are protected against excessive heating of the electronic system. Lastly, induction hobs also detect certain voltage variations and compensate for them, extending in this way the working life of the hob.
In some induction models, Teka incorporates new carcasses or housings of synthetic material with fibreglass, which reduces the total height of the hob, making it possible to install them over ovens, dishwashers and cutlery drawers (in every case, take into consideration the requirements in the instruction manual).
Low temp function at low power available in most of the induction hobs allow keeping the plate we have just prepared warm just before serving it at the table. Low temp function between 60-70º C is available a maximum of 120 minutes; the hob will then switched off.
Induction mixed hobs combine induction hobs with High Light vitroceramic hobs. Teka has also mixed electric and gas hobs.
Teka modular hobs (induction modular hobs, gas modular hobs, electric modular hobs, etc), can be combined through profiles, creating multiple combinations and taking advantage of the advantages of every cooking type.
Teka induction hobs only activate when they detect a suitable receptacle or pan. Otherwise, a “U” symbol in the display of the activated cooking zone will appear. The following pans are suitable for induction: ferrous stainless steel, enamelled steel, cast steel, austenitic stainless steel with ferrous bottom and generally all those recipients with magnetic ferrous or magnetizing properties. To check if the recipient is apt for induction, make the test with a magnet, this must stick to the bottom.
Teka polyvalent hobs, both vitroceramic hobs, gas on glass hobs and gas hobs are activated from the control panels or with the polyvalent versions of our ovens range. Polyvalent hobs allow you to control all hobs: gas, electric, vitroceramic and mixed hobs from the control panel through systems of cardan.
Power function or Extra power increases the total power in the zone or induction zones selected by 35%, for a maximum of 10 minutes. Ideal for fast boiling, browning the heat intensely or quickly warming up liquids such as water, milk, soups, etc. Some models activate the Power function in any of the hobs to a maximum of 3700 W in one heating element, but simultaneously in two of different sides. The Power function can be activated or deactivated in any moment.
It indicates to the user that the ceramic surface is hot (60º C or more). Residual heat indication is shown by a “ H” lit in the display when cooking is over in Touch Control models and through pilots in other kinds of vitroceramic hobs.
A standard in all the Touch Control range. It is a very useful function to avoid accidental changes and for cleaning. It can be also used as block for children, elderly people, etc. When this function is activated, the whole unit is blocked except the On-Off sensor.
The standard built-in niche is 560 mm width X 490 mm depth. Most of our vitroceramic and induction hobs can be built-in standard niche of the competitors. However, the models of other producers cannot be built-in our old niche of 580 X 492 mm.
The new “Stop and Go” function is very useful when the doorbell or phone rings, as it means you can pause the cooking process without the need to restart the hob. For security reasons, the function is only available for 10 minutes. If the user presses the Stop sensor, the cooking zone switches off avoiding food over burning or overcooking. With a simple touch, the surface will come back to its original temperature.
Tactile sensors, intuitive and of easy use with acoustic sensors, which activate the different functions in the digital displays. There are front and side Touch Controls. Thanks to the special design of the new Teka induction and vitroceramic hobs Touch Controls, the separation between the heating elements and from the heating elements to the Touch Control is larger, so making adjustments is easier when cooking with all the heating elements at the same time. Furthermore, the situation of the bigger heating elements at the back in many Teka models makes cooking easier.
Triple ring burners have 20% more power than normal burners. They are ideal for cooking with large pans etc. such as woks, big pots, paella dishes, frying pans, etc. Furthermore, Teka triple ring burners have a decorative slope.
Vitroceramic crystal has a special treatment which gives it great resistance and toughness against knocks and allows heat to transmit easily vertically but with difficulty horizontally making minimum heat loss possible. Teka vitroceramic hobs include those with geometrical and natural shapes such as the octagonal model, the kidney model, the fan model, etc providing a design touch in the kitchen.
Warming zones keep a dish hot while the user cooks another. It is a zone which keeps the right temperature, so food doesn’t boil over or burn.
