Fridges

- Adjustable shelves:

The adjustable or mobile shelves make it easy to adjust the trays to the height needed to keep pots, mugs, jugs, big bowls, large packets, etc.

- Air clean filter:

Some No Frost models have this innovative system which eliminates possible odours inside the fridge. The circulation air passes through an active carbon and palladium filter that purifies the inner cavity. In order to recover its full cleaning capacity, the filter must be let dry for one hour.

- Antibacterial system:

A special covering or treatment both inside and in the door made of silver ions. This film does not eliminate bacteria by cleaning. It avoids the growth of bacteria, micro organisms and unpleasant odours inside the refrigerator. Therefore, the food keeps fresh and safe to eat longer. As silver is a natural antiseptic, it helps avoid the development of diseases such as salmonella, Legionnaire´s disease, hepatitis C, etc. Teka side by sides have 4 antibacterial systems: in the gasket, ioniser, antibacterial odour filter and silver coating for inner plastic.

- Autonomy:

Number of hours a freezer can work without electric current without the food becoming spoiled

- Automatic Defrost:

The refrigerator defrosts automatically at regular intervals during the breaks or pauses of the compressor (defrost at intervals in the refrigerator) without having to switch off the appliance or take out the stored food. In the course of this cycle, the drops of water from the melted ice go through a drain and flow into a tank over the compressor. With the generated heat, it causes evaporation. The temperature is maintained in such a way that it does not affect the perfect cold storage of the foods. We could also mention automatic defrosting in the freezer in No- Frost models due to our own No-Frost technology because they have an anti frost heating element which prevents the air conducts becoming blocked.

- CFC:

Chloro fluoro carbons. Teka refrigerators are 100% free of CFC in their refrigerants and insulation. CFC is a light gas, an organic refrigerant, which is the main cause of the ozone layer damage and of the greenhouse effect.

- Climatic classes:

Climatic class indicates the rank of environmental temperatures in which the refrigerator works of an optimal way. Each refrigerator is developed for a different climatic class depending on the climate. There are 4 climatic classes: T (Tropical: between 18 and 43º C) , ST ( Subtropical: between 18º and 38 ºC) , N ( Temperate: between 16º and 32 ºC) and SN (Temperate- Prolonged 10º-32º C). Teka refrigerators are mostly T and ST classes.

- Combi refrigerators:

Type of refrigerator comprising a large fridge on the top and a large freezer on the bottom. CI 345.1 has two units or independent refrigeration circuits (2 motors and 2 thermostats). This system allows the independent disconnection of each compartment. In case of breakdown of any of the motors, the other compartment can keep on working. Furthermore, two motor combis have a great capacity of freezing fresh foods and in case of a power cut, the frozen food keeps longer (great autonomy), which helps to keep optimal conditions both in the refrigerator and in the freezer.

- Compressor:

It consists of a pump activated by an electric motor. It sucks in the gas coming from the evaporator and compresses it, forcing it into the condenser in a gaseous state, increasing its temperature and pressure. Teka has single compressor models both in their No- Frost refrigerators and in combi models. Single compressor models with double electrovalve work with air currents so the valves open just when needed and in the area where needed, consuming less refrigerant and less electricity.

- Condenser:

The refrigerant enters the condenser as a gas. There, it cools at a constant pressure by means of a fan and the aluminium wings of thermal dissipation, transferring heat from the refrigerant to the environment, and changing from a gas to a liquid.

- Conservation 0-3ºC Zone:

It is a long time Conservation zone. A compartment situated over the groceries drawer which keeps constant temperatures near 0 º C (between 0º and 3 ºC) to keep all the nutritive properties of the foods up to three times longer. High humidity zone ideal for fresh products kept at lower temperatures and lower humidity levels such as meat, fish, pasta, yoghourt, cheese, sausages and ready to serve meals. It is developed to combat a micro organism called listeria which can potentially develop above 4º C. Cold comes into directly from the evaporator.

- Coolflow System:

Without a fan, the temperature could rise if warm air enters when opening the door. The Teka coolflow system (a fan in refrigerator compartment) combines electronic regulation with a fan. The fan makes the air circulate continually through the refrigerator without drying the foods. It provides an even degree of cold inside the refrigerator. Thanks to a fan situated in the upper part of the refrigerator, the system distributes cold air throughout the compartment, avoiding condensation on the trays and reducing the temperature between 1º C- 2º C in comparison with other types of systems. This produces a considerable energy saving and better food conservation (it lengthens the life of the foods). Moreover, the cold is re- established faster after opening the door (the fridge gets back to the right temperature much faster after the door has been opened)

- Crisp or Grocery drawers with humidity and temperature regulators:

Some models incorporate pull out, large, transparent drawers with humidity and temperature regulators depending on the type of food. They keep fruit and vegetables fresh longer, extending the life of them.

- Chromed bottle rack:

Supports to keep and cool bottles of different sizes in a horizontal position, without taking up room in the bottle racks inside the door. In some models, they slide. They bring a touch of elegance and design to the refrigerator apart from a better organization of the food. There are sliding racks a with capacity for 2 and 5 bottles.

- Decor frame:

In the decor frame models it is possible to decorate the doors with up to 3 mm thick panels, to match the rest of upper kitchen units in the kitchen.

- Door opening alarm:

If the user accidentally leaves the door open in some Teka models, an alarm will sound to avoid the food becoming spoiled and a waste of energy.

- E-inox fingerprint proof treatment:

A special treatment simulating stainless steel on the outside of the refrigerator. A fingerprint proof finish which avoids fingerprints on the door and on the sides of the refrigerator.

- Eco function:

The eco function is a system capable of automatically selecting the temperature to store the food reducing to the minimum electricity consumption (freezer – 18 º, refrigerator + 6º).

- Electronic panels:

Teka’s electronic control system displays the temperature of every zone, it has optical and acoustic alarms in case of excessive increases of temperature or electric faults, it has memories to re-establish the temperature in case of electric faults, it makes auto-checks (Diagnosis function), safety block option, etc. It can be an LCD display, Double digital Display of 7 segments with independent temperature in fridge and freezer, chain of leds, etc.

- Electrovalves:

They are also known as cold distributors. It is a valve which is electrically controlled to regulate the refrigerant supply. The sensors, located in different points of the refrigerator determine the quantity of cold to provide in each level every time the compressor starts.

The electro-valves provide the right cold for each zone according to the information they receive from the sensors, taking into consideration the differential between the real temperature and the defined one.

- Energy class:

Electricity consumption is a very important part of the running cost of the refrigerator. Teka, in its line of environmental awareness and rational use of resources only offers refrigerators with A+ or A class except CI 345.1 which is B class.

- Evaporator:

The evaporator is where a heat transfer or thermal interchange from the environment to the refrigerant is made, producing a change of state (from liquid to gas). As the evaporator is totally hidden in the back wall of the compartment, the inside is absolutely flat, which makes cleaning tasks easier and increases the useful available space. Do not scrape the frost with sharp objects since they can damage the evaporator.

- Fast cooling area:

The new model CB 340 S, incorporates a fast cooling area (-3 -15º C) situated in the freezer especially to cool and keep drinks, ice-creams, ice lollies, ready meals and other products to be served shortly or to keep previously frozen food. It is a third independent electronic regulation zone. A semi-frost adjustable zone between -3 and -15 º C. It is also useful when we introduce a large quantity of foods. It is easier to cut the foods in this zone.

- Freezing capacity:

So that fresh foods keep a satisfactory quality, they must be frozen quickly. The freezing or power capacity measures the number of kilograms of the foods which can be frozen in 24 hours.

- Fuzzy Logic:

The new “Fuzzy Logic” System some refrigerators of the range incorporate provides a constant and precise control of the temperature automatically, without the user having to do anything at all. The system is an electronic or intelligent control which regulates the temperature through independent sensors distributed throughout the refrigerator. This maintains a constant temperature and adjusts the temperature automatically. All the temperature information, both ambient and inside the fridge, is collected by the electronic control, which regulates the cold air inlet and establishes exactly the different temperatures for each compartment.

- Gas R-600:

The majority of Teka refrigerators have Butane Refrigerant Gas R 600 which is an ecological gas which preserves the ozone layer. It reduces the noise levels and the consumption and provides a better output of the refrigerator.

- Ice maker off:

Pressing this button, ice formation stops and no water will be taken. To restart ice formation, “Ice off” button must be pressed again. This feature is useful if you are not going to use the ice maker for some days for example in wintertime, when you do not need ice or when we holiday and to make cleaning labours easier because if not ice sticks.

- Inner ice maker:

The ice cubes are made in a closed container, apart from the rest of the foods, which could spoil or alter its flavour. Twisting the knob 90º the ice cubes fall directly on the ice cube tray, ready to be used without drops spoiled and without sticking.

- Intelligent cooling system:

The cool air at the back channel on the wall is flowing to the sides, not to the front direction. The holes of the air flow channels are not visible. It prevents freezing or spoiling of food which is located just in front of the back wall. The air does not flow directly through the food.

- LCD display:

Liquid crystal displays show the temperature in the different zones: fridge, freezer and indicates if the fast cooling area is activated. It uses fuzzy logic and warns via an optical alarm in case of excess temperature.

- No Frost:

The No Frost system brings a series of advantages with respect to the conventional system:

- It makes a faster and higher quality freezing in the freezer possible, which means better food conservation, eliminating the mixture of different odours.
- It does away with the defrost and periodic cleaning of the refrigerator. The refrigerator defrosts automatically and the resulting water lodges in a special compartment where it evaporates (drains)
- It cools and distributes the cold much faster inside thanks to its numerous air outlets throughout the refrigerator
- It keeps an optimal, steady temperature in the entire fridge. Apart from monitoring the temperature with greater precision than a traditional system.
- It controls the level of humidity at all times and prevents ice and frost forming on the walls and the food. This prevents the recipients sticking to each other and labels can be read easily.
- It ensures a dry cold so food stay fresh longer. Furthermore, it reduces the ice burn effect in which food loses its natural juices in the freezing process.

- Reversible doors:

All the doors can be mounted to open from left to the right or vice versa., Teka refrigerators open to the right as standard but, if necessary, can easily be changed to the left. This system increases versatility in the kitchen.

- Safety glass shelves:

Our adjustable safety glass shelves are made of tempered glass so they look attractive and are extremely resistant too. The glass makes the fridge brighter inside, apart from being easier to clean and more durable (scratch resistant). Safety glass shelves have a strip to avoid spillages and a non-slip surface. Furthermore, their total stability means they are suitable for any type of recipients (containers).

- Side by side:

These are large appliances arranged vertically, side by side, in which one is a large refrigerator and the other an equally large freezer. The NF-650 is an example of side by side( American formats). The door of the refrigerator and the freezer are parallel. It has ice cubes, crushed ice and cool water dispensers. It incorporates a long-life filter, which is installed in the back of the refrigerator. The appliance is connected to a mains water supply. Unlike other side by sides, all the installation accessories are included in the appliance (installation kit): connection tube, cartridges, stopcocks, connectors, etc. The long-life filter avoids the dispenser getting blocked. It eliminates the bacteria and filters the calcium carbonate particles. It must be renewed approximately once a year depending on use.

- Stainless steel fingerprint proof:

Teka has finishes with full fingerprint proof stainless steel and just in the door . This gives the kitchen an impeccable appearance, creating perfect combinations with the rest of the white and cooking line thanks to a special fine film (covering) applied to the stainless steel surface which looks great throughout its life, avoiding fingerprints.

- Stars on the freezer:

The stars on the freezer indicate freezing power. Most Teka models have the highest number of stars : 4 stars (****), that is they reach temperatures of –18 ºC and can freeze 5 kg of fresh foods / 100 litres of capacity in the freezing zone in 24 hours, so that they can be stored longer.

- Super frost:

Super frost is a button which allows you to freeze large quantities of foods without damaging the ones already frozen. Temperature increases when putting fresh food in the freezer are avoided. In this case, to avoid the temperature of the frozen food dropping, we recommend pressing the Fast Freezing button during the previous 24 hours. Superfrost guarantees that when we defrost food, it will keep its flavour and texture. The faster the defrosting, the less the nutritional values of the foods change.

- Thermostat:

Bimetal or twin metal (what’s the difference?) with different dilation coefficients which regulate the temperature of the refrigerators. In the mechanical models they work also as On/off switches. The right temperature is 5º C in the refrigerator and -18 º C in the freezer.

- Vac function:

The VAC function serves to disconnect the refrigerator compartment when the user goes off on holiday (energy saving on holiday periods) . Once this function is activated we recommend leaving the door open to prevent unpleasant odours. It maintains the level of cold necessary to keep the refrigerator free of odours, bacteria and dirt for long periods. Defrosting starts automatically, saving time and electricity and the length of the defrosting programme depends on the ambient temperature.
